Our Story
Built through collaboration.
Founded in 2017, Studio Collective operates as a design-led duo partnering with a handpicked network of creative specialists across disciplines.
Our studio model is built around the unique needs of each client and project, assembling bespoke teams of strategists, writers, researchers, developers, designers, and production specialists to deliver thoughtful, enduring creative work.
We recognised early on that South African creative talent was significantly underrepresented on the global stage. As the industry shifted toward more connected and collaborative ways of working, we built a studio model that could operate internationally while remaining intentionally lean, flexible, and creatively focused.
Studio Collective partners with clients across the globe, specialising in brand identity development while also designing packaging, products, websites, communication plans, books, and ideas for special projects.
Our Story
Studio Collective developed
organically, if not accidentally,
starting with a group of
creative friends calling on
each other to lend our
respective capabilities to
respective client projects.
And we’ve continued this tradition, more than anything because we’ve found that it works for us and our clients.
We also felt that South African talent was totally underutilized internationally, at a time when companies of all sizes were becoming more open to the idea of working with overseas teams.
Nowadays, our team is made up of some designers, and some social researchers-editors-writers-and- consultants-turned-strategists, who work between Cape Town and New York. We specialize in brand identity development, but we also design packaging, products, websites, communication plans, books, and ideas for special projects.
